A contemporary news media source, 1812 elevates influential voices within local communities to bring credible coverage to important issues. In a landscape of fake news, their aim is to cultivate trust, bridge gaps, and create bonds among citizens. We were asked to create a distinct digital-first brand identity with a versatile system for typography and layout design.
Identity Design, Animation,
The 1812 brand identity is bold and alive, with an action-oriented logotype and a prominent use of the forthright Proxima Nova typeface. Each aspect was built to support sizes and voices big and small.
We worked closely with photographer Dylan Stanley to develop an artful and candid approach to the visual narrative. You can see more of Dylan’s work here. We passed on guides to the 1812 team and look forward to watching their emergence as the new kind news our communities deserve.
